Resources to Study Korean for Various Levels !


Whether you want to start to learn korean from scratch or you've already started and you are feeling stuck, here are some resources i've used to progress in Korean :


FIRST STEP:


I always recommend starting by learning the korean alphabet 한글. This is crucial for a proper pronunciation along the learning process.

To do so, you can use various existing app :

- Duolingo

- Memrise

- Write it!Korean



BEGINNER


1) Talk To Me In Korean : https://talktomeinkorean.com/

On TTMIK you can find free lessons of vocabulary and grammar.

They also have podcasts, textbooks, a fun instagram channel and videos!

there is also a payable version with more content such as stories.



2)Coursera : First Step in Korean : https://www.coursera.org/learn/learn-korean

This free course teaches how to read and write Korean alphabet, to use basic expressions in order to communicate in Korean and learn basic knowledge on Korean culture.



3) Naver dictionnary : https://en.dict.naver.com/#/main



Great dictionnary containing definition, hanja (origine of the word) but also example sentences !



INTERMEDIATE



A great website for grammar points essential for intermediate level (equivalent also exists for beginner)


2) Short Stories in Korean

To read korean early in your learning process and see the grammar patterns and vocabulary in use!



3) Complete guide to the Topik


The book contains advice, explanations and mock exams !

In addition to mock exam easily found on the internet (https://www.topikguide.com/complete-topik-practice-test-online/), it also contains explaination on each texts and more detailed explanation on each answer.


4) Naver Webtoon:


Learn through webtoons, story lines and images make the vocabulary learning more engaging !
